About the Individual
Baroness Milly Antonia von FRIEDLAENDER-FULD is presumed to have received a visa in Bordeaux from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in June of 1940 after having been explicitly refused by Salazar, the Portuguese head of state.
She remained in France and died in Cannes in 1943.
Milly's daughter Marie Anne ROTHSCHILD and grandchildren Antoinette DE KUHLMANN and Viktor ROTHSCHILD may have been Sousa Mendes visa recipients as well.
